People`s Park is an urban public park in central Chengdu. Covering an area of 112,639 square metres (1,212,440 sq ft), it is the largest green area in downtown Chengdu. Built in 1911 as Shaocheng Park, it is the first public park in the city.

Now the park is a local landmark, featuring an artificial lake, several gardens, the Railway Protection Movement Monument, and the century-old Heming Teahouse.

This park is free of charge, but with distinct character of Chengdu lifestyle. We highly suggest you go there to feel local life style when just wandering around in this city. It must be another wonderful life experience when just sitting there to enjoy tea in the century-old Heming Teahouse.

Moreover, this park has its own station, People's Park Station, on Line 2 of the Chengdu Metro. You can easily reach there by subway or bus lines 5, 13, and 37.
